The National Economic Development Party (NEDP) Party Leader, H.E. Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has issued a stern warning to party members allegedly soliciting money from aspirants seeking to contest on the party’s ticket.In a strongly worded statement, Sonko categorically declared that NEDP will not charge any nomination or registration fees to aspirants at any level.
He emphasized that the party stands for economic empowerment and inclusivity, and will not tolerate exploitation of leaders who wish to serve under its banner.
“I want to make it very clear that NEDP will not ask for any money from aspirants. Anyone purporting to collect fees in the name of the party is a fraudster and should be arrested immediately,” Sonko stated.
The party leader warned that disciplinary action will be taken against any official or member found engaging in the illegal collection of funds. He further urged aspirants to report any individual demanding money to the relevant authorities without fear.
Sonko reiterated that NEDP’s mission is to provide a fair and transparent political platform focused on economic development, youth empowerment, and integrity in leadership.The directive comes amid increased political activities across the country, as parties begin early mobilization ahead of future elections.
NEDP leadership has assured members and supporters that internal systems are being strengthened to safeguard aspirants from extortion and protect the credibility of the party.
