NAIROBI, KENYA — The political conversation surrounding the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial contest is taking shape, with Hon. Patrick Musili Mbangula advancing his “Usawa Ni Sawa” agenda as he joins other leaders and professionals in welcoming President William Ruto to the Ukambani region.

Mbangula, who is positioning himself as a contender for the Nairobi governorship, says his agenda for the capital focuses on creating opportunities, promoting equality and restoring hope among Nairobi residents.

His “Usawa Ni Sawa” message places equal opportunities and inclusive development at the centre of his proposed vision for Nairobi County, as political leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

During the reception of President Ruto in Ukambani, Mbangula called on residents to support the President’s bid for a second term under the TUTAM agenda.

He also echoed calls for unity and cooperation, following the President’s pledge to unite the region and work towards its future development goals.

Mbangula’s appearance alongside leaders and professionals welcoming the President brings his Nairobi political ambitions into the wider national conversation, highlighting the intersection between county leadership, regional unity and national political alliances.

As the race for Nairobi governor develops, Mbangula’s proposed agenda will be judged by how clearly it addresses the challenges facing residents, including unemployment, the cost of living, traffic congestion, access to business opportunities and the delivery of essential county services.

His “Usawa Ni Sawa” platform now provides a framework through which he is seeking to communicate his vision for Nairobi’s future.
