Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd (MRM), through the Safal MRM Foundation, has officially handed over a newly constructed classroom block at Nyanjoro Primary School in Nyahururu, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable community development and quality education across Kenya.

The project enhances the school’s learning infrastructure by providing safe, modern, and well-equipped classrooms designed to support effective teaching and improved learning outcomes for pupils.

Speaking during the handover, MRM Chief Executive Officer Albert Sigei said the decision to construct a new classroom block followed a technical assessment that revealed structural limitations in the existing facilities.

“While the initial request was for roofing repairs, our assessment showed that the existing structures could not safely support new roofing. In line with our commitment to safety, quality, and long-term impact, we opted to construct a complete classroom block,” said Sigei.

The initiative was implemented through the Safal MRM Foundation, which leads MRM’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programs focused on sustainable community empowerment and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“This project directly supports SDG 4 on inclusive and equitable quality education and reflects our Education and Shelter CSI pillars. It is a practical demonstration of our commitment to creating lasting value in the communities where we operate,” Sigei added.

Education officials and community leaders who attended the handover commended MRM for its contribution to strengthening public education infrastructure in Nyahururu.
