Babu Owino has pledged to work towards restoring the University of Nairobi to its former standing if elected Governor of Nairobi City County in the 2027 General Election.

Babu said his proposed agenda would focus on improving the university’s current condition, enhancing lecturers’ salaries and supporting efforts to restore the institution’s reputation as a leading centre of higher learning.

He emphasised that education is vital to the nation’s development, noting the importance of investing in institutions of higher learning and the professionals responsible for educating future generations.

The legislator’s pledge places university conditions, lecturers’ welfare and the future of higher education among the issues he says he intends to address as he pursues the Nairobi governorship.

However, details on how the proposed improvements would be funded and implemented, particularly regarding lecturers’ salaries and the university’s administration, are yet to be outlined.

The pledge is likely to draw attention to the relationship between county leadership and higher education, as well as the practical steps needed to improve learning environments and support academic staff.

As the 2027 election approaches, voters will be watching how candidates translate their development promises into clear, practical and accountable plans.

By Jeff Kizzilah | Digital Editor
LiveNation254 Media | ePaper Online — Fastest and Credible

BABU OWINO PLEDGES UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI REVIVAL, BETTER PAY FOR LECTURERS Governor hopeful says education is vital to national development as he outlines plans to…

[30,25

post-6805","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-updates","category-politics
["GET
