KCB Bank Kenya is urging consumers to adopt a smarter approach to managing their money as the country\u2019s digital economy continues to expand, with the bank encouraging Kenyans to pay closer attention to the cost and convenience of every transaction.<\/p>\n

Through its Common Cents Campaign<\/strong>, KCB is championing affordable, convenient and inclusive digital payments while encouraging consumers to make every shilling count.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Kenya\u2019s evolving digital financial landscape, KCB Director of Digital Financial Services Angela Mwirigi<\/strong> said the future of digital finance should not only focus on making transactions faster, but also on ensuring consumers get greater value from every payment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe future of digital finance may not simply be about making payments faster. It is about making every payment count.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One Platform, Fewer Unnecessary Costs<\/strong><\/h3>\n

KCB says customers can pay school fees, bills and everyday services directly from their KCB accounts, reducing the need for unnecessary transfers between bank accounts and mobile wallets.<\/p>\n

The approach is designed to help consumers save time, reduce unnecessary transaction costs and maintain greater control over their money<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through the Common Cents campaign, the bank is also encouraging Kenyans to develop healthier financial habits by planning their spending, making informed choices and avoiding the costly practice of moving the same money multiple times between different platforms.<\/p>\n

Digital Payments Continue to Surge<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The campaign comes as Kenya\u2019s use of digital financial services continues to grow. According to data cited by KCB, mobile money accounts reached 95.31 million in August 2026<\/strong>, highlighting the increasingly important role of digital payments in everyday life.<\/p>\n

However, as digital transactions become more widespread, the cost of moving money remains an important consideration for consumers, particularly in rural and underserved areas.<\/p>\n

KCB says its approach aligns with the broader objective of expanding affordable and inclusive financial services under Kenya\u2019s 2025\u20132028 National Financial Inclusion Strategy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
