Ronald Karauri, the Kasarani Member of Parliament and fellow Mang’u alumnus, in a homecoming that generated excitement among students and the wider school community.

As an alumnus of Mang’u and the National Chairman of the Parents Association (NPA) under the Ministry of Education, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to Mr. George Ruto for returning to the school he once called home.

His visit was more than a ceremonial appearance. He took time to interact with students, engage with the school community and tour various parts of the institution.

For students, seeing a former student return years after leaving the school can be a powerful source of inspiration. It reminds them that the classrooms, corridors and experiences they encounter today are part of a much larger journey.

A HOMEcoming WITH A MESSAGE

Mr. George’s return provided an opportunity to reflect on his own journey at Mang’u and the experiences that helped shape him.

His story demonstrates that every journey has a beginning. Before adulthood, responsibilities and opportunities, there was a young student navigating the ordinary challenges and experiences of school life.

His visit therefore offered an important message to the current generation: where you begin does not necessarily determine where you end.

Hard work, discipline, focus, humility and perseverance remain essential ingredients in building a meaningful future.

What was particularly admirable during the visit was his humility and approachable manner as he interacted with students and members of the school community.

A CALL TO MANG’U ALUMNI

For me, the greatest significance of Mr. George’s visit goes beyond the visit itself.

It is a reminder that our responsibility to Mang’u does not end when we graduate.

We may leave the school physically, but Mang’u remains part of our story.

I therefore call upon fellow Mang’u alumni to take this moment as an opportunity to reconnect, share ideas and collectively support the institution that gave us a foundation for life.

Mang’u alumni are spread across virtually every sector of society, including business, academia, public service, entrepreneurship and the professions.

If this collective experience, expertise, networks and goodwill are properly harnessed, we can make a significant contribution to the continued growth and development of Mang’u High School.

The question we should all ask ourselves is simple:

What can we collectively do to make Mang’u better than we found it?AN INVITATION TO GEORGE RUTO

As an alumnus involved in the Mang’u Alumni Welfare Association, Mang’u Alumni Investment and Mang’u High School Foundation, I extend a warm invitation to Mr. George Ruto to join these alumni platforms and remain actively connected to the Mang’u family.

I believe his experiences, perspectives and expertise can contribute meaningfully to alumni initiatives and the continued development of the school.

His homecoming should therefore not end with one visit.

It should be the beginning of a stronger and lasting connection with the Mang’u fraternity.

THE POWER OF ALUMNI AND PARENTS

My experience as National Chairman of the Parents Association has reinforced my belief that parents and alumni can play a significant role in strengthening educational institutions.

Schools are more than buildings. They are institutions that shape generations.

Those who have passed through these institutions therefore have a responsibility to consider how they can give back.

When alumni bring together their professional expertise, resources, networks and goodwill, they can create lasting opportunities for current and future students.

RECOGNISING ALUMNI SERVICE

I also recognise Mr. Silas David Obuhatsa, who serves on the Board of the Mang’u Alumni Welfare Association, as National Treasurer of Mang’u High School Alumni Investment and as a member of the Mang’u High School Foundation.

Such alumni structures provide an important platform through which former students can remain connected, support one another and contribute to the development of their alma mater.

A MESSAGE TO MANG’U STUDENTS

To the students of Mang’u High School, my message is simple:

Dream big. Work hard. Remain focused. Respect others. Stay disciplined.

Never allow your present circumstances to define the limits of your future.

One day, you too may leave these school gates, build your career and return home to inspire the next generation.

Mr. George Ruto’s visit is a reminder that the journey does not end when we leave Mang’u.

Sometimes, the journey eventually brings us back home.

MANG’U GAVE US A FOUNDATION — NOW LET US GIVE BACK

I sincerely appreciate Mr. George Ruto for returning to Mang’u, spending time with the students, touring the school and reconnecting with the institution that played a role in his formative years.

I also appreciate Hon. Ronald Karauri for accompanying him as another proud Mang’u alumnus.

But the bigger message from this homecoming is one that should resonate with the entire Mang’u fraternity:

No matter how far life takes us, we should never forget where our journey began.

Mang’u is our home.

Mang’u is part of our story.

And its future is a responsibility we all share.

Mang’u invested in us. It is now our turn to invest in Mang’u.

Mr. Silas David Obuhatsa
Alumnus, Mang’u High School
National Chairman, National Parents Association (NPA)

A Homecoming That Sparks a Call for Alumni to Give Back By Silas David Obuhatsa Alumnus, Mang’u High School | National Chairman, National Parents Association…

[26,30

post-6540","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-education","category-latest-updates
["GET
