Politrack Survey Puts Ruto at 45.1% in 2027 Presidential Preference<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

President William Ruto has emerged with 45.1 per cent support in the latest Politrack Africa presidential preference survey, placing him ahead of his closest rivals in the organisation\u2019s assessment of Kenya\u2019s 2027 presidential race.<\/p>\n

The survey, conducted between September 15 and 25, 2026, places former Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna second with 19.6 per cent, followed by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at 10.3 per cent.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the findings, Politrack Africa Reporting Officer Emmanuel Kutosi said the survey was designed to capture voter preferences across the country, with county-level sampling and weighting applied to generate the national estimates.
\nKutosi said the findings were based on responses from 20,419 respondents drawn from all counties, with the national figures weighted against a registered-voter base of 22,102,532. The survey reported a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points at a 95 per cent confidence level.<\/p>\n
President Ruto recorded 45.1 per cent, followed by Sifuna at 19.6 per cent and Musyoka at 10.3 per cent. Fred Matiang\u2019i polled at 8.4 per cent, while Rigathi Gachagua registered 7.2 per cent.
\nGeorge Wajackoyah recorded 6.0 per cent, while Martha Karua and David Maraga each registered 0.8 per cent. James Orengo had 0.4 per cent and Jimmy Wanjigi 0.3 per cent. Another 1.1 per cent of respondents were undecided.<\/p>\n
The survey also examined public sentiment on the country’s direction, with 45.2 per cent saying Kenya was moving in the right direction against 44.6 per cent who held the opposite view. Another 10.2 per cent were unsure.<\/p>\n
On government performance, roads and housing jointly recorded the highest positive assessment at 16.3 per cent each, followed by health services, including SHIF and SHA, at 13.0 per cent and agriculture at 10.0 per cent.
\nHowever, fighting corruption attracted the highest negative assessment at 19.2 per cent, followed by health services and SHIF\/SHA management at 18.4 per cent and the economy and cost of living at 12.0 per cent.<\/p>\n
On Political Parties popularity, the survey further placed UDA at 32.0 per cent in national party preference, followed by the Democracy for the Citizens Party at 11.7 per cent and ODM at 10.6 per cent. Jubilee registered 6.9 per cent, Wiper 5.6 per cent, Kenya Kwanza 3.5 per cent and Azimio 3.2 per cent.<\/p>\n
Politrack also found that 52 per cent of respondents were either very ready or somewhat ready for Kenya to have its first female Deputy President. Among those who expressed openness to the prospect, Anne Waiguru recorded 36 per cent, followed by Martha Karua at 27 per cent and Gladys Wanga at 15 per cent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
