RUTO INSPECTS DHOGOYE BRIDGE PROJECT AS USENGE\u2013BUSIA CONNECTIVITY GETS MAJOR BOOST<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Usenge, Siaya County \u2014 September 15, 2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

President William Ruto, accompanied by regional leaders, has inspected the ongoing construction of the Dhogoye Bridge and its 4.3-kilometre approach roads in Usenge, Bondo Constituency.<\/p>\n

The 200-metre bridge is expected to transform connectivity between Usenge and the wider Siaya County, Majimbo\/Osieko Island and neighbouring Busia County once completed.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The project is designed to provide fishing communities and other residents with faster and more reliable access to markets, landing sites and essential services.<\/p>\n

The improved connection is also expected to reduce transport costs, shorten travel times and open up new economic opportunities for communities that depend heavily on fishing and related businesses.<\/p>\n

\nThe development comes as the Government continues to prioritise infrastructure projects aimed at unlocking economic potential and improving movement of people and goods across the country.<\/p>\n
