The official opening of the 32nd African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) General Assembly<\/strong> is underway in Mombasa City, bringing together key stakeholders from across Africa to deliberate on standards, quality infrastructure and the continent\u2019s trade and economic development agenda.<\/p>\n

The high-level assembly is being led by Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki<\/strong>, who is expected to highlight Kenya\u2019s commitment to strengthening African standards and removing barriers to intra-African trade.<\/p>\n
The gathering provides a platform for African countries and standards bodies to exchange ideas, strengthen cooperation and advance harmonised standards that can enhance the competitiveness of African products in regional and international markets.<\/p>\n
The 32nd ARSO General Assembly comes at a time when African economies are seeking to deepen AfCFTA-driven trade<\/strong>, improve product quality and expand opportunities for local manufacturers and businesses.<\/p>\n
The Mombasa meeting is therefore expected to shape important conversations on how stronger standards can support African industrialisation, consumer protection, innovation and sustainable economic growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
