Speaking during the recent national examinations briefing, KNEC Chief Executive Officer Dr. David Njengere warned that parents were among key contributors to examination malpractice, a concern previously raised by former Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang.

NPA said parents have a critical responsibility to protect the credibility of the country’s education system by promoting honesty, discipline and hard work among learners instead of seeking unfair advantages.
The Association warned that examination malpractice leads to cancellation of results, damages learners’ integrity, produces graduates lacking essential competencies, undermines confidence in Kenya’s education system and exposes offenders to criminal prosecution.
NPA reaffirmed its support for KNEC and the Ministry of Education in safeguarding the integrity of national examinations and called on parents to cooperate fully with schools and examination officials while reporting any suspected cases of malpractice.

The Association also appealed to the Ministry of Education to establish a formal partnership between KNEC and NPA to roll out nationwide parental sensitization programmes in all 47 counties. The proposed initiative would educate parents on examination regulations, registration procedures, candidates’ rights and responsibilities, and the dangers of examination malpractice.
Additionally, NPA urged parents to immediately verify with schools that candidates have been properly registered for this year’s national examinations, warning that some learners have previously missed examinations due to registration failures.

The Association also called on school heads to strictly comply with KNEC registration guidelines and encouraged parents to seek dialogue through NPA, the Ministry of Education or the Teachers Service Commission before pursuing court action over examination-related disputes.

NPA maintained that protecting the integrity of national examinations is a shared responsibility and called on parents, teachers, schools, learners, communities and government agencies to work together to ensure every learner succeeds through merit, honesty and genuine effort.

NPA Warns Parents Against Exam Cheating, Calls for Nationwide Integrity Campaign Ahead of October Exams By Irene mwende The National Parents Association (NPA) has urged…

[26

post-5088","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-education
["GET
