NPA Urges Parents to Lead Kenya’s Green Revolution Through the Mazingira Yetu, Jukumu Letu<\/em> Initiative<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The National Parents Association (NPA) Kenya has reaffirmed its full support for the Government’s environmental conservation agenda under the Mazingira Yetu, Jukumu Letu<\/strong> initiative, calling on parents across all 47 counties to take a leading role in protecting the environment and promoting Kenya’s transition to a green economy.<\/p>\n
The Association noted that parents are the first teachers and role models in every child’s life, making families the foundation upon which environmental responsibility and sustainable living are built.<\/p>\n
NPA urged parents to actively participate in environmental conservation by planting and nurturing trees, promoting proper waste management, conserving water and energy, embracing clean cooking technologies, establishing kitchen gardens, reducing plastic pollution, participating in community clean-up exercises, and teaching children the importance of protecting forests, rivers, wetlands and wildlife.<\/p>\n
The Association emphasized that the green economy presents significant opportunities for Kenyan families through job creation, improved food security, better public health, innovation, and sustainable economic growth. Parents were encouraged to inspire their children to pursue careers in environmental science, renewable energy, climate change, agriculture, engineering, and other green sectors that will shape Kenya’s future.<\/p>\n
To strengthen national efforts, the National Parents Association appealed to the Office of the First Lady, through Ms. Sheila Mburu, to partner with the Association in mobilizing and empowering parents as active participants in implementing the Mazingira Yetu, Jukumu Letu<\/strong> programme.<\/p>\n
Leveraging its established structures at the national, county, sub-county, and school levels across all 47 counties, NPA expressed its readiness to support nationwide programmes that will raise awareness on environmental conservation, train parents as ambassadors of green practices, strengthen school-home partnerships, support large-scale tree planting and long-term tree nurturing, encourage community ownership of conservation efforts, and enhance environmental education through active parental participation.<\/p>\n
The Association said such collaboration would significantly accelerate the realization of His Excellency the President’s vision of making Kenya one of Africa’s leading green economies through collective national responsibility.<\/p>\n

NPA stressed that environmental conservation is not solely the responsibility of government institutions but a shared responsibility that begins in every home. Every parent has a role to play in raising a generation that respects nature, conserves natural resources, and embraces sustainable living.<\/p>\n
The National Parents Association reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Office of the First Lady, national and county governments, development partners, schools, faith-based organizations, civil society, and the private sector to ensure that every parent becomes an active participant in safeguarding Kenya’s environment.<\/p>\n
Together, let us embrace the spirit of Mazingira Yetu, Jukumu Letu<\/em> and build a greener, cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous Kenya for present and future generations.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
