It noted that parents, schools, religious institutions, communities, government, and development partners all have a shared responsibility to ensure that every child has access to quality education.

The NPA praised the Church for its longstanding contribution to Kenya’s education sector through the establishment of schools, mentorship of young people, promotion of moral values, and support for vulnerable learners. It said the Church’s renewed call comes at a crucial moment as the country continues implementing the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, which requires stronger collaboration among all stakeholders.
The Association highlighted growing concerns affecting learners, including drug and substance abuse, school unrest, violence, harmful online content, and negative peer influence. It stressed the need to strengthen character formation, discipline, and responsible citizenship while ensuring that no child is denied education because of financial hardship.

NPA further urged parents to remain actively involved in their children’s education by promoting school attendance, respecting teachers, participating in school activities, creating safe home environments, and nurturing strong moral values.

The Association also called on county governments, Members of Parliament, the private sector, alumni associations, civil society organizations, and development partners to complement government efforts by investing in scholarships, school infrastructure, digital learning, mentorship programmes, nutrition initiatives, and psychosocial support for learners.

On university education, the NPA encouraged parents and students to remain confident in the Government’s ongoing reforms to improve higher education funding, expressing support for assurances by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba that deserving students will continue receiving financial assistance.

The Association concluded by reaffirming that education is not solely the responsibility of the Government but a national duty that requires the collective participation of every Kenyan.

“The future of Kenya will be determined by the quality of education we provide today. Together, through unity and shared responsibility, we can build an education system that empowers every child and secures our nation’s prosperity for generations to come,” the statement said.

By News Desk The National Parents Association (NPA) has endorsed the Church’s appeal for all Kenyans to unite in supporting the education of every child,…

[26

post-4776","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-education
["GET
