Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his wife, Primrose Sonko, shared an emotional moment as they officially gave away their daughter, Janet Kaingi, in a colorful wedding ceremony held at Limuru Gardens.
\nSpeaking after the ceremony, Sonko described the day as one filled with both joy and sadness, saying that while the family was celebrating Janet’s new beginning, they also felt the pain of seeing her leave home after more than 17 years of raising and nurturing her.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n“We now believe our daughter is gone,” Sonko said emotionally, reflecting on the journey from watching Janet grow up, taking her to school, supporting her through high school and university, celebrating her employment, and finally witnessing her start her own family.<\/p>\n

Sonko thanked Janet for being a loving, respectful, and humble daughter, urging her to uphold the values instilled in her as she embarks on married life. He encouraged her to remain God-fearing and to be a source of blessing to her new family.<\/p>\n

He warmly welcomed his new son-in-law, Elvis Kintu, into the Sonko family, saying he is no longer just a son-in-law but a son. Sonko urged Elvis to love, protect, and respect Janet throughout their marriage.<\/p>\n

The former governor also offered heartfelt marital advice to the newlyweds, emphasizing that a successful marriage is built on love, patience, forgiveness, understanding, and open communication. He cautioned against allowing anger or violence into their home, encouraging them to always resolve disagreements through dialogue.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was marked by emotional scenes as family members, relatives, and friends celebrated the union while bidding farewell to Janet as she began a new chapter of her life.<\/p>\n
