The National Parents Association (NPA) has called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the violent unrest reported at Nyambisase High School in Kisii County, where students allegedly attacked members of the teaching staff.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the Association, National Chairman Mr. Silas David Obuhatsa described the incident as deeply disturbing, emphasizing that schools must remain safe, secure and peaceful environments where both learners and teachers can thrive without fear.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Association condemned all forms of violence, destruction of school property and attacks against teachers, stating that such actions undermine the education system and cannot be tolerated.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
NPA has urged the Ministry of Education, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and relevant security agencies to urgently establish the facts surrounding the incident and recommend lasting measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The Association has also called on the National Police Service to conduct impartial investigations and ensure that anyone found responsible for criminal acts is held accountable under the law.<\/p>\n

As an immediate safety measure, NPA has recommended that the Teachers Service Commission temporarily redeploy teachers from the affected school until the security situation is fully restored and normal learning can safely resume.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Association has reassured parents across the country that schools should continue operating normally and encouraged them to ensure that learners report to school as scheduled and continue with their education without fear.<\/p>\n

On the planned public demonstrations, NPA affirmed every Kenyan’s constitutional right to peaceful assembly and peaceful protest. However, it appealed to all participants to conduct themselves peacefully, responsibly and within the law while respecting the rights, safety and property of others.<\/p>\n

- The Association further urged the National Police Service to provide adequate security to protect peaceful demonstrators, members of the public, and public institutions throughout the demonstrations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
<\/p>\n
Expressing concern over criminal elements that often infiltrate peaceful protests, NPA called on the Government to deploy sufficient security personnel to all learning institutions to safeguard learners, teachers and school property from possible acts of vandalism or violence.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Association also appealed to law enforcement agencies to ensure that no school-going children are exposed to danger or disrupted during the demonstrations, while reminding parents of their responsibility to keep learners in school during learning hours.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
NPA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting safe learning environments, quality education and strong collaboration between parents, schools and Government institutions to safeguard the welfare and future of every Kenyan child.<\/p>\n
