Babu Owino has renewed pressure on the Nairobi County Government to immediately settle the gratuity owed to former Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) employees who lost their jobs following the transition of functions back to the county.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Speaking on the matter, Babu Owino said the affected workers have suffered for far too long despite a court ruling directing that they be paid their dues. According to him, each former employee is entitled to approximately KSh226,000 in gratuity, but many are yet to receive any payment.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The legislator termed the continued delay unacceptable, arguing that the affected workers and their families have endured unnecessary financial hardship while waiting for justice to be implemented.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n<strong>&#8220;The change is coming,&#8221; Babu Owino declared, insisting that the Nairobi County Government must honour the court&#8217;s decision and release the funds without any further delay.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He called on the county leadership to prioritize the welfare of the former NMS employees by ensuring the court-awarded gratuity is paid promptly, emphasizing that justice delayed is justice denied.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By News Desk\u00a0 Hon.
