President Ruto Opens KSh3.8 Billion Ngong Road\u2013Naivasha Road Flyover to Ease Nairobi Traffic<\/h1>\n<\/blockquote>\n

President William Ruto has officially commissioned the 820-metre Ngong Road\u2013Naivasha Road Flyover, a KSh3.8 billion infrastructure project aimed at reducing congestion and improving mobility along one of Nairobi’s busiest transport corridors.
\nThe new flyover is expected to eliminate one of the city’s most persistent traffic bottlenecks, improving road safety while ensuring the smoother movement of commuters, businesses and goods. According to the government, the project will reduce congestion by up to 60 per cent, significantly cutting travel time, lowering transport costs and enhancing the efficiency of the Ngong Road corridor.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the launch, President Ruto said the flyover forms part of a broader plan to transform Nairobi into a modern, efficient and globally competitive capital city.<\/p>\n

The President highlighted several ongoing infrastructure projects, including the KSh3 billion Upper Hill\u2013Kenyatta Avenue Viaduct, currently 60 per cent complete, the KSh3.9 billion Talanta Sports City access roads, the KSh1.6 billion upgrade of State House Road, and the planned dualling of the 23.5-kilometre Kiambu Road corridor through a KSh30 billion investment.
\nHe also announced the rollout of an Intelligent Transport System covering more than 210 signalised junctions across Nairobi in three phases at a cost of KSh45 billion. The system is expected to deliver coordinated real-time traffic management, improve road safety and reduce travel times across the city.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the government is undertaking one of Nairobi’s largest urban road improvement programmes, with 729 kilometres of roads currently under routine maintenance and several others undergoing rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

President Ruto said these investments demonstrate the government’s commitment to addressing decades of traffic congestion and building infrastructure that supports economic growth while positioning Nairobi as the gateway to Eastern Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
