Today at the Milimani Law Courts, we successfully represented our client, Ezekiel Kyama, popularly known as “Mr Speaker Sir,”<\/strong> in a case where he is accused of malicious damage to Parliament property valued at KSh 41 million.<\/p>\n
After considering the facts presented, the court ordered that Mr. Kyama be released on a personal recognisance bond (free bond), allowing him to remain out of custody as the case proceeds.<\/p>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
Mr. Kyama is a fourth-year student at Kenyatta University, and continued detention would have disrupted his ability to sit his final examinations, potentially affecting his academic future.<\/p>\n
Following today’s proceedings, we reiterate our call to investigative agencies, particularly the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), to ensure that cases brought before the courts are supported by sufficient and credible evidence.<\/p>\n
The justice system must remain guided by the rule of law, fairness, and due process. Every accused person is entitled to a fair hearing, and investigations should meet the legal threshold before charges are preferred.<\/p>\n
