The number of registered mobile money agents increased from\u00a0<b>501,399 to 602,470<\/b>, a substantial quarterly growth of\u00a0<b>20.2% that represents 101,000 new agents<\/b>\u00a0added during the quarter.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>Safaricom remains the market leader in the mobile money market, accounting for<b>\u00a089.1% of mobile money subscriptions.<\/b>\u00a0The company&#8217;s continued investment in converged digital solutions has been supported by the M-PESA Fintech 2.0 platform upgrade, which has significantly enhanced system capacity. The upgraded platform is designed to support significantly higher transaction volumes and enables the rollout of new digital financial products and services.\u00a0 This scale is further reflected in Safaricom&#8217;s\u00a0<b>FY26 performance, where the Kenya ecosystem processed approximately 46.41 billion transactions valued at KSh 41.68 trillion.<\/b>\u00a0Importantly, the platform continues to be driven by high-frequency, low-value transactions. During FY26, Safaricom\u00a0<b>facilitated approximately 17.1 billion Kadogo transactions, accounting for 36.8% of total M-PESA transaction volumes<\/b>. This demonstrates the extent to which small-value digital transactions support day-to-day liquidity needs for households, informal businesses, and micro-enterprises.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div><strong><em>M-PESA&#8217;s continued evolution beyond payments and money transfers is increasingly evident through the expansion of savings, investment, insurance, and wealth management products.<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As of 15 June 2026,\u00a0<b>Ziidi Trader has attracted approximately 688,000 opt-ins and over 103,000 active traders<\/b>. Ziidi Trader platform has facilitated\u00a0<b>533,000 trades involving 171 million shares and a traded value of approximately KSh 1.9 billion.<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>The most mature product within the ecosystem is\u00a0<b>Ziidi MMF<\/b>, which has recorded approximately\u00a0<b>7.7 million opt-ins<\/b>, with\u00a0<b>2.42 million active investing subscribers<\/b>\u00a0and assets under management (AUM) of approximately\u00a0<b>KSh 19.8 billion<\/b>. This makes it the largest investment product within the M-PESA ecosystem and indicates strong consumer appetite for low-entry digital investment solutions. \u00a0Insurance products also demonstrate significant market potential.\u00a0<b>Tuunza<\/b>\u00a0has attracted approximately\u00a0<b>759,000 opt-ins<\/b>, with\u00a0<b>87,000 customers purchasing cover<\/b>, covering more than\u00a0<b>205,000 lives<\/b>\u00a0through over\u00a0<b>7,100 active policies<\/b>.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Shariah-compliant investment offering,\u00a0<b>Ziidi Shariah<\/b>, has achieved approximately\u00a0<b>836,000 opt-ins<\/b>, translating into more than\u00a0<b>102,000 investing subscribers<\/b>\u00a0and assets under management of approximately\u00a0<b>KSh 154 million<\/b>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>Products targeting businesses and capital markets participation are also gaining traction.\u00a0<b>Ziidi Biashara<\/b>\u00a0has recorded approximately\u00a0<b>25,000 opt-ins<\/b>, while\u00a0<b>Ziidi Trader<\/b>\u00a0has attracted approximately\u00a0<b>688,000 opt-ins<\/b>\u00a0and over\u00a0<b>103,000 active traders,\u00a0<\/b>facilitating<b>\u00a0<\/b>approximately\u00a0<b>533,000 trades<\/b>, worth\u00a0<b>171 million shares<\/b>\u00a0and a traded value of approximately\u00a0<b>KSh 1.9 billion<\/b>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"quoted-text\">\n<div>At the lower end of the savings spectrum,\u00a0<b>Ziidi Pochi<\/b>\u00a0has registered approximately\u00a0<b>1.46 million opt-ins<\/b>, with nearly\u00a0<b>196,000 active saving users<\/b>\u00a0and assets under management of approximately\u00a0<b>KSh 318 million<\/b>. This indicates continued demand for informal, accessible digital savings products designed for smaller and more frequent transactions.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div><strong>These developments suggest that mobile money platforms are increasingly evolving into broader financial ecosystems that support savings, investment, insurance, and participation in capital markets.
