Aspiring Makueni Woman Representative Damaris Maweu has reaffirmed her commitment to empowering vulnerable groups after leading a Widows Empowerment Program in Kyangoma, Kikima, Mbooni, bringing together widows, community leaders, and government representatives to discuss social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the event, Maweu emphasized the need to strengthen support systems for widows and create opportunities that enable them to participate meaningfully in community development and economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur discussions focused on ensuring that widows are not left behind in development initiatives. Through mentorship, capacity building, and empowerment programs, we can help transform lives and build stronger communities,\u201d said Maweu.<\/p>\n

The forum provided a platform for participants to address challenges facing widows and explore practical solutions aimed at improving their social and economic well-being. Maweu underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between government institutions, community leaders, and development partners in advancing the welfare of vulnerable members of society.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Mr. Victor, Personal Assistant to the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Hon. Kisoi, officials from the Ministry of Interior, and other government representatives. The leaders reiterated their commitment to promoting inclusive development, social welfare, and community empowerment initiatives across the region.<\/p>\n

Maweu noted that empowering widows extends beyond individual beneficiaries and has a broader impact on families and society.<\/p>\n
