Patrick Osoi has issued strong demands ahead of the anticipated passage of the Finance Bill, insisting that the government must first address the economic hardships facing ordinary Kenyans before introducing any new tax measures.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Speaking during a public engagement, Osoi argued that the Finance Bill should not be passed unless the government demonstrates accountability in the management of public resources and provides clear justification for existing taxation policies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Osoi, Kenyans are already struggling with the high cost of living, rising prices of essential commodities, and increasing economic pressure on households and businesses. He maintained that additional taxes would only worsen the situation for millions of citizens.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>&#8220;The government must first account for how public funds are being utilized before seeking to impose more taxes on wananchi. Kenyans deserve transparency, accountability, and value for every shilling collected,&#8221; Osoi stated.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The outspoken leader further called for investigations into officials and leaders whom he accused of contributing to excessive taxation policies and the misuse of public resources. He argued that those found responsible for decisions that have negatively impacted citizens should face legal consequences.<\/p>\n<p>Osoi urged Members of Parliament to listen to the concerns of ordinary Kenyans during the ongoing public participation process and ensure that the final Finance Bill reflects the interests of the people rather than imposing additional financial burdens.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>He emphasized that economic reforms should focus on reducing government wastage, fighting corruption, creating employment opportunities, and supporting businesses instead of introducing new taxes.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As debate on the Finance Bill continues across the country, Osoi called on citizens to remain vigilant and actively participate in discussions that will shape Kenya&#8217;s economic future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Jeff Kizzilah Digital Editor\u00a0 Political activist and governance advocate Hon.
