Carrefour Kenya, operated exclusively by Majid Al Futtaim in Kenya, has announced the launch of the inaugural Carrefour Open Padel Tournament, set to take place from June 4 to 7, 2026, at Village Market, Nairobi.<\/p>\n

The four-day sporting event will bring together more than 250 athletes competing across various categories, including Top, Advanced, Mixed, High Intermediate, Intermediate, and Open divisions. Participants will battle for a share of the KES 700,000 cash prize pool in what promises to be one of the biggest padel events in the country.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Beyond competition, the tournament reflects Carrefour Kenya\u2019s commitment to empowering communities through sports by creating opportunities for youth engagement, talent development, and social inclusion. Visitors will enjoy interactive fan zones and community-centered activities aimed at increasing awareness and participation in the rapidly growing sport of padel.<\/p>\n

In a significant community outreach initiative, Carrefour will also host a special youth tournament on June 3, bringing together 100 children from Gacharage Junior Secondary and Primary School. The young participants will receive guided padel training sessions, with the top three performers earning a one-year mentorship programme under the guidance of Networks Padel Village coaches.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Christophe Orcet, Regional Director \u2013 East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, emphasized the transformative role of sports in society.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This initiative reflects Carrefour Kenya\u2019s commitment to the communities it serves by widening access to sport and supporting youth development.
