{"id":3089,"date":"2026-06-01T15:50:35","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T15:50:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/livenation254.com\/?p=3089"},"modified":"2026-06-01T15:50:35","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T15:50:35","slug":"ruto-unveils-ksh145-billion-northern-kenya-transformation-plan-as-roads-housing-and-airports-get-major-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livenation254.com\/?p=3089","title":{"rendered":"Ruto Unveils KSh145 Billion Northern Kenya Transformation Plan as Roads, Housing and Airports Get Major Boost"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By News Desk <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wajir, Kenya \u2013 June 2026 \u2013 President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration&#8217;s commitment to ending decades of historical marginalisation in Northern Kenya through unprecedented investments in infrastructure, housing, and economic development projects worth more than KSh145 billion.<br \/>\nSpeaking after hosting leaders from Wajir, Mandera, and Garissa counties at the Wajir State Lodge, President Ruto outlined a comprehensive development agenda aimed at unlocking the vast economic potential of the region and accelerating socio-economic growth.<br \/>\nThe President revealed that the Government is investing over KSh100 billion through the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project to construct the Isiolo-Mandera road, a flagship infrastructure project expected to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate trade, and create new economic opportunities across Northern Kenya.<br \/>\nIn addition, the President announced that the 500-kilometre Lamu-Garissa-Isiolo road is now halfway complete and remains on track for completion next year. Once finalized, the road is expected to open up the region to increased commerce, investment, and development.<br \/>\n&#8220;As a government, we are making significant investments to unlock Northern Kenya&#8217;s vast potential and address decades of historical marginalisation. Our commitment is to ensure that every part of Kenya receives its fair share of development and opportunities for prosperity,&#8221; President Ruto stated.<br \/>\nThe Head of State further briefed regional leaders on the Government&#8217;s investment of more than KSh45 billion in affordable housing projects across Wajir, Mandera, and Garissa counties.
