President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto have called on Kenyans to embrace forgiveness, reconciliation, and national unity, saying the country must rise above political and ethnic divisions for the sake of a peaceful and prosperous future.<\/p>\n

In a message to the nation, President Ruto said the country had taken \u201ca moment to pause, reflect, and pray together as one people,\u201d emphasizing the importance of healing and togetherness during challenging times.<\/p>\n

The President noted that this year\u2019s theme, Forgiveness and Reconciliation<\/em>, serves as a reminder of the values that bind the nation together despite differing opinions and political affiliations.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore politics and ethnicity, we are first and foremost Kenyans,\u201d President Ruto stated.<\/p>\n

He observed that while differences are inevitable in a democratic society, they should never be allowed to fuel hatred, animosity, or division among citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a robust democracy like ours, differences are bound to arise. But divergence of opinion must never degenerate into hatred, animosity and division,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State further urged Kenyans to choose peace and understanding, saying forgiveness is a sign of courage and strength rather than weakness.<\/p>\n

\u201cA prosperous nation is built when citizens dare to forgive and have the grace to reconcile. Forgiveness is not a weakness; it is, in fact, bravery,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

President Ruto also described reconciliation as a commitment to a shared national destiny, insisting that unity remains key to Kenya\u2019s progress and stability.<\/p>\n

\u201cReconciliation is our resounding testament that our shared future matters more than our divisions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mama Rachel Ruto echoed the message of unity and prayer, calling on families, leaders, and communities to uphold love, compassion, and mutual respect as pillars for national cohesion.<\/p>\n
