The race for the Ol Kalou<\/em> parliamentary seat has officially begun after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) cleared four candidates to contest the highly anticipated July 16, 2026 by-election, setting the stage for a fierce political showdown.<\/p>\n

The nomination exercise, conducted over two days in Ol Kalou town, attracted massive crowds as political parties mobilised supporters in a display of influence, grassroots strength, and campaign readiness. Convoys of vehicles, party songs, chants, and colourful branded regalia dominated the town as supporters escorted their preferred candidates to the IEBC offices.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Among those cleared was DCP candidate Sammy Ngotho, who addressed enthusiastic supporters moments before formally submitting his nomination papers. The atmosphere reflected the growing political tension and national attention surrounding the mini-poll.<\/p>\n
