<\/a><\/p>\nFormer Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a blistering political attack against President William Ruto and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen following a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the DCP Party held in Nairobi.<\/p>\n
Speaking after the meeting, Gachagua claimed that the DCP Party had made major political gains in the Emurua Dikirr by-election where the party\u2019s candidate, Hon. Vincent Rotich, emerged second with 10,760 votes in what he described as a traditional stronghold of President Ruto.<\/p>\n
Gachagua accused President Ruto and the ruling UDA party of using voter bribery, intimidation, guns, and state resources to influence elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe already got victory. But voter bribery and intimidation by Mr. William Ruto and his wheelbarrow party brought darkness into the process,\u201d Gachagua stated.<\/p>\n
He further alleged that the President cannot secure support anywhere in Kenya without using money and intimidation tactics.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is clear William Ruto and his brigade cannot get votes anywhere in Kenya without paying heavily and using guns and goons. Unfortunately, it is not his money. It is money meant for roads, schools, and struggling cancer patients,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The former Deputy President also announced a major expansion of the DCP Party leadership structure, unveiling new officials from various regions including Kakamega, Narok, Wajir, Nairobi, Busia, and Nyandarua counties.<\/p>\n
Among the appointments announced was Nyandarua Senator John Methu, who was named Secretary General Designate, while Hezron Obaga takes over as Executive Director of the party.<\/p>\n

The NEC further tasked Senator John Methu and Hon. Wanjiku Muhia with leading campaigns for the upcoming Ol Kalou by-election.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gachagua claimed the party is rapidly growing nationally, revealing that:<\/strong><\/p>\n
34 gubernatorial aspirants have expressed interest in the DCP ticket<\/strong><\/p>\n
98 senate aspirants have registered<\/strong><\/p>\n
764 National Assembly aspirants are seeking the party ticket<\/strong><\/p>\n
11,564 MCA aspirants have shown interest<\/strong><\/p>\n
More than 4.5 million members have internally registered with the party<\/strong><\/p>\n
He also accused the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties of frustrating Kenyans attempting to resign from UDA and join DCP.<\/strong><\/p>\n
In the most explosive part of his statement, Gachagua expressed concern over President Ruto\u2019s security, claiming the Head of State has been attacked publicly several times in recent months.<\/strong><\/p>\n
He accused Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen of incompetence, calling him \u201cjuvenile,\u201d \u201cthoughtless,\u201d and \u201ca minister of entertainment.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u201cThe man only smiles when he has a new belt, a new gold watch or excessive attire. He cannot coordinate a security meeting,\u201d Gachagua alleged.<\/strong><\/p>\n
The former DP further claimed that security officers guarding the President are demoralized due to delayed allowances and alleged favoritism within the security apparatus.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Gachagua referenced the 1994 Rwanda plane crash involving President Juvenal Habyarimana and warned that instability surrounding the presidency could have dangerous consequences for national unity and security.<\/strong><\/p>\n
He urged President Ruto to reconsider Murkomen\u2019s appointment to the Interior Ministry, saying the CS would be better suited for the Sports docket.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTake this Murkomen to Sports where he belongs. He can wear sports shoes, belts and dance all he wants,\u201d Gachagua remarked.<\/strong><\/p>\n
