NPA Hails Government\u2013PAG Partnership in Vihiga, Calls for Urgent School Feeding Program to Boost Learner Retenti<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

National Parents Association (NPA), through its National Chairman Mr. Silas David<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The National Parents Association (NPA), through its National Chairman Mr. Silas David Obuhatsa, has commended the Government and the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Church for their impactful partnership in supporting vulnerable families in Vihiga County.<\/p>\n

Mr. Obuhatsa lauded the initiative, which focuses on providing simple housing and essential support to widows, widowers, and caregivers of school-going children. He described the program as a timely intervention that directly enhances the welfare of disadvantaged families while creating a more stable and conducive learning environment for children.<\/p>\n

He noted that Vihiga County faces significant socio-economic challenges, with many caregivers struggling to meet basic needs, including school requirements\u2014placing children at risk of dropping out of school.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is both kind and commendable for the Government and the PAG Church to prioritize the needs of vulnerable families. This initiative demonstrates a genuine commitment to strengthening education at the grassroots level,\u201d said Mr. Obuhatsa.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The NPA emphasized that access to stable shelter and basic necessities is critical in ensuring learners remain focused, attend school consistently, and perform well academically.<\/p>\n

To further strengthen the initiative, Mr. Obuhatsa called on the Government to integrate sustainable school feeding programs into the support framework. He highlighted that such programs would significantly improve school attendance, retention, and concentration among learners, particularly those from impoverished households.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe inclusion of school feeding programs will ensure that no child misses school due to hunger. It will reinforce this noble initiative and support the national goal of achieving 100 percent transition and retention in education,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The NPA reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with government and community stakeholders to promote equitable access to education. The Association also urged the expansion of similar programs to other counties facing comparable challenges across the country.<\/p>\n
