He warned residents currently occupying these areas to vacate immediately to avoid forced evictions.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe cannot continue to lose lives and disrupt livelihoods because of illegal settlements on riverbanks. These demolitions are necessary to restore order and protect Nairobians from future disasters,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Governor further revealed that the exercise will be carried out in collaboration with national government agencies to ensure compliance and enforcement.
